The regeneration of Eggbuckland Keep represents a truly unique and privileged opportunity to transform an historic asset. In recent years Eggbuckland Keep has lost this strong sense of identity and purpose. It is our vision to recreate the vital sense of place by re-imagining this historic landmark for 21st century life.
The Keep will be renovated and radically improved. The vision has at its heart a new commercial hub that is accessed through a double height glazed extension at the historic entrance to Eggbuckland Keep. This multifunctional space, at the centre of the development, could accommodate a unique programme of history, lifestyle and cultural events as well as providing a space to admire the historical architecture.
The overall commercial strategy is a highly flexible and scalable solution so that the building with its new sustainable systems, efficient structure and innovative strategies can adapt in the future and respond to ever changing office environment & trends.
Our overarching heritage strategy is to repair, restore and enhance the original grade *II listed building in a considered and sensitive manner that allows the delivery of the very significant wider public benefits of the overall development. In particular the poor quality rooftop additions have been removed and replaced with a contemporary and high quality façade that will sit alongside the restored keep beneath. This refined and intelligent approach will announce a new architecture whilst celebrating and reinforcing the status of the original building.
